Miguel Alvarez has been immersed in the world of creation since the age of sixteen. Though largely self-taught, his artistic journey has been enriched by formal training at Franklin College of Indiana, and most recently at the prestigious Art Students League of New York.
His professional path began in publishing, where he honed his eye for design and eventually established himself as a graphic designer. In 1997, Miguel transitioned to painting in 2010 embracing acrylics as his medium of choice—a passion that has defined his practice ever since.
Drawn to the enigmatic allure of surrealism, Miguel explores the landscapes of dreams, nightmares, and symbolic imagery. His work resonates in a space between the raw energy of Jean-Michel Basquiat and the visionary imagination of Salvador Dalí, yet remains distinctly his own.
What sets Miguel apart is not only his artistic vision but also his tenacity. Fearless and courageous, he approaches both his art and his professional endeavors with the boldness required to break boundaries.
