From Foundations to the Future: Finding Spirit in the Art of Becoming

The journey of an artist is rarely just about the brush and the canvas; it is about the relentless pursuit of the soul.

If you’ve been following my path with the PW School of Art, you know that I view creativity as a tool for transformation. Earlier this year, we stood together during the Entrepreneur of Impact competition. Today, I am humbled and electrified to announce that we are stepping onto an even larger stage.

I have been selected to compete in Johnny Depp’s: The People’s Artist.

A Foundation Built on Rock

My art has never been just about aesthetics. It has been a road of self-identification and a search for spirit. I’ve always believed that if I could uncover where my spirit truly lay, I could finally define the principles I stand for.

For years, I’ve worked to create support where there was none and to build standards through art that didn't just exist for beauty, but for strength. This journey has allowed me to lay my foundation on a sturdy rock—one from which I can never be toppled. Through the "Art of Becoming," I have discovered not only who I am, but exactly what I am capable of achieving.

A Vision for America

Being named The People’s Artist would be more than a personal victory; it would be a platform to share this experience with the country. My hope is that through my work, we can find a collective new spirit—one that leads us forward with purpose and resilience, rather than backward into the shadows.

Art has the power to heal, to provide financial freedom, and to act as a mirror for our greatest potential. I want to take the lessons learned in the Bronx and share them with every community striving for renewal.

How You Can Help: The Community Vote

This is a "community thing," and I cannot do it without the fellowship that has brought me this far. To move forward in this competition, I need your voice and your energy.

Thank you for standing behind me as I continue to build, to create, and to become. Let’s show the world the power of a spirit that refuses to be shaken.

Onward and upward,

Miguel Alvarez Founder and headmaster, Poseidon’s Wave & PW School of Art
